LV Panels

LV panels are the basic units that provide energy distribution and control in electrical installations. With the development of technology, the materials used in panels have diversified and their functions have become more advanced. However, their basic tasks of energy distribution and control have remained unchanged. Today, the control and protection components used in LV panels have evolved from analog to digital systems, making energy security more precise.

Construction Materials

The frame structure of the panels is made of profile or angle iron, while the sheet metal parts are made of at least 2 mm thick DKP sheet with rounded corners. The inner and outer surfaces of the panels are first coated with a layer of corrosion-resistant primer (anti-rust) and then a final treatment is applied with baked matte spray paint.

Dimensions

LV panels are produced in different sizes depending on the area of use. The standard height is determined as 210 cm and the depth as 75 cm. The width can be 60, 80, or 90 cm depending on the need. To increase durability, 40x40x4 mm angle iron or a similar profile iron is used in the frame. If switches and control elements that will create a mechanical effect on the panel are to be mounted, it is recommended to choose a sheet thickness of 3 mm. The panels are fixed on a 10 cm high concrete base before being placed on a flat surface. In addition, a maintenance passage of at least 75 cm width is left behind the panel, ensuring safe access for authorized personnel.

Components of LV Panels

Busbars: Made from 99% pure electrolytic copper.
Main Switch (Load Breaker): Located at the energy input, it controls the safety of the entire system.
Molded Case Circuit Breakers: Serve as input and output switches.
Current Transformers: Provide precise measurement by converting the current passing through the primary circuit for measurement purposes from the secondary winding.
Support Insulators: Used to insulate and fix the busbars to the panel body.
Internal Socket and Lighting: A single-phase socket and a lighting lamp can be added inside the panel depending on the need.

Safety Measures

Live open points must be covered with an insulated enclosure to prevent accidental contact.

There must be a distance of at least 1 meter between exposed live parts and the surrounding walls.

If there are opposing open points, this distance must be at least 2 meters. A working area of at least 90 cm width must be left in front of the panel.

"Danger of Death" warning signs must be placed on the panel. Non-electrically conductive metal parts must be grounded to ensure safety.

The maintenance passage behind the panel must be covered with insulating PVC material for safe work.

The panel doors must be kept locked at all times to prevent unauthorized access.
