Hermetic Oil Type Transformer
Transformers produced in the 25-2500 kVA power range and up to 36 kV high voltage level are designed as single or three-phase. They are oil-immersed and naturally cooled (ONAN), produced for indoor and outdoor use with options for off-load tap changers or on-load automatic tap changers.
In hermetic oil type transformers, which are produced under controlled pressure in a factory environment to prevent contact with the atmosphere, changes in oil pressure are balanced by the flexible structure of the tank walls. Since there is no expansion tank, oil filling is done in special vacuum chambers without leaving an air gap. This prevents moisture formation and oxidation of the oil, ensuring long-term use.
Hermetic oil type transformers, being designed with a lower height compared to models with an expansion tank, can be easily used in narrow spaces.

Features
Hermetic oil type transformers do not have an expansion tank; the tank is completely filled with oil. A structure completely isolated from the atmosphere is created by making special pressure adjustments in the factory environment.
The expansion caused by thermal effects on the oil is effectively controlled by the elastic and corrugated tank structure. These corrugated walls both transfer heat to the outside and absorb the extra expanding oil, performing a balancing task.
Since the transformer oil does not come into contact with air, it does not interact with oxygen; this prevents the aging of the oil due to oxidation. Also, since there is no contact with air, the risk of moisture absorption is eliminated. Thanks to these features, hermetic oil type transformers are longer-lasting compared to models with an expansion tank.
In terms of maintenance, hermetic oil type transformers only require intervention for cleaning the bushings and checking the protection devices; otherwise, they do not need regular maintenance.
Being more compact in size, hermetic oil type transformers can be easily installed in small spaces and offer significant advantages in compact transformer stations. In addition, the safety distance problems created by the expansion tank in cable and busbar connections are not present in hermetic oil type transformers, which provides flexibility in installation.
