Dry Type Transformer

Epoxy resin, cast under vacuum, protects the high-voltage-low-voltage (HV-LV) windings against moisture, ensuring safe use in harsh environmental conditions. This allows it to operate smoothly in humid environments and does not require a drying process when put back into operation even after being out of service for a long time.

Thanks to the non-flammable and self-extinguishing properties of epoxy cast resin, there is no fire risk and no leaks that could harm the environment can occur. In this respect, it is a safe and environmentally friendly solution.

Dry type transformers, being more compactly designed than oil type transformers, take up less space and reduce additional construction requirements. In addition, they have a longer lifespan due to low thermal and dielectric aging.

It offers reliable performance with its high resistance to short circuits and its capacity to support overloads. With easy installation and assembly, maintenance needs are also minimal.

Transformers are systems that transmit electrical energy from one circuit to another via electromagnetic induction. Dry type transformers are a special type of transformer that cools the heat generated during this energy transfer with air circulation instead of oil. In these transformers, the magnetic circuit and windings do not come into contact with insulating liquids; instead, they are coated with glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin and are completely insulated against external effects.

Being completely dry, they do not contain any oil. This makes them both environmentally friendly and safe. Dry type transformers can operate smoothly under atmospheric conditions or in special gas environments. They are generally available in varnish-impregnated or cast resin-coated versions.
